The Cafe Manager's responsibilities include all day to day operations of their location, managing and training staff, educating customers on our menu, making recommendations based on customer preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders.
To be successful in this role, the Cafe Manager should have leadership skills, time management skills, organizational skills, customer service skills, knowledge of brewing methods and specialty drinks, and a motivation to keep the store clean and presentable. *They should be flexible to work various shifts throughout the weekly schedule.*
Cafe Manager Responsibilities:
- Training and guiding store employees in delivering excellent customer service
- Assigning responsibilities to employees for operational effectiveness
- Ensuring that the cafe is maintained according to sanitation and cleaning standards
- Maintaining a safe and inviting environment for customers
- Obtaining customer feedback and suggesting appropriate business developments or changes to meet customer needs
- Identifying and addressing issues in store performance
- Communicating clearly with all employees to ensure effective store operations
- Setting a positive tone and strong work ethic, leading by example
- Training and educating your team on Noble Pie’s processes and policies
- Taking inventory after each shift
- Immediately greeting customers as they enter
- Engaging customers before taking orders (i.e. “How are you today?”)
- Educating customers on menu items and answering any questions they ask
- Discerning customer’s preferences and making recommendations accordingly
- Taking orders while paying attention to details (i.e. preferences of roast, dairy and syrup)
- Receiving and processing payments (cash and credit cards)
- Serving prepared food, like cookies, scones, cakes, pies
- Preparing and serving beverages following recipes
- Opening and/or closing the store (first and last person there)
- Assessing what needs to be accomplished in your shift, then prioritizing and delegating
- Keeping your team moving and working, checking for quality and thoroughness
- Managing storage areas and putting away all deliveries when they arrive• Managing cash for your location
- Counting and closing the cash register after each shift; bundling money in safe for deposit
- Noticing if equipment operates properly and reporting any maintenance needs
- Complying with health and safety regulations
- Recommending new menu items and reporting customer feedback
- Brewing drip coffee as needed
- Washing and putting away dishes
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
