What are the responsibilities and job description for the 6th Grade ELA and Science Teacher position at Noble Intermediate School?
Noble Intermediate School is looking for an energetic, creative, and student-centered educator to join our team as our newest 6th Grade ELA & Science Teacher! This unique position includes teaching three sections of English Language Arts and one section of Science to some of the most curious, hilarious, and unpredictable learners on the planet: middle schoolers.
We’re searching for someone who can:
Turn reluctant readers into passionate thinkers
Make writing feel meaningful (and maybe even fun)
Bring science to life through inquiry, experimentation, and the occasional controlled mess
Build strong relationships while maintaining high expectations
Navigate the daily adventures of 11- and 12-year-olds with patience, humor, and positivity
At Noble Intermediate School, we believe great teaching is about more than content—it’s about creating a classroom where students feel safe, challenged, and inspired to grow. Our ideal candidate is collaborative, reflective, flexible, and eager to be part of a strong team that supports one another and puts kids first.
Bonus points if you:
Can recommend a great book and explain plate tectonics with equal enthusiasm
Believe “Why?” is one of the best questions students can ask
Are comfortable hearing at least 17 random facts or stories before lunch
Understand that middle school students can be simultaneously brilliant, awkward, thoughtful, and hilarious
If you’re ready to help students strengthen their voices as readers, writers, scientists, and people, we’d love to meet you.
