Role Description
The Procurement Specialist supports the procurement of raw materials for NobelClad U.S. operations. The role follows established supply management practices to help control costs, maintain supply continuity, and support operational needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains good professional relationships with suppliers and other third parties and arranges visits to supplier facilities.
- Responsible for all purchasing activities and establishes purchasing processes and procedures as needed with guidance from senior supply chain staff.
- Issues request for quotes (RFQ), performs bid evaluations, negotiates pricing and ensures metals are purchased at the most competitive price.
- Reviews raw material supply plan for potential delivery and technical issues prior to order placement and mitigates any risk to the supply chain.
- Supports cost control efforts and assists in maintaining relationships with approved suppliers under the guidance of senior supply chain staff.
- Assists with purchase order administration activities, including reviewing supplier agreements, supporting compliance requirements, and escalating negotiation needs to senior supply chain staff.
- Maintains up to date metal pricing in a database for use by the sales team in quoting upcoming projects.
- Evaluates potential suppliers for capability, quality and pricing and works to qualify new suppliers in support of NobelClad products.
- Analyzes procurement and pricing trends to implement and maintain strategic inventory programs.
- Understands and stays up to date on current market conditions for metals and suppliers for potential impact on NobelClad products.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; discipline open, with emphasis on applicable experience and demonstrated competencies. Equivalent coursework or professional experience will be considered.
- 0-2 years’ experience negotiating purchases and managing suppliers.
- Applicable industry certifications a plus.

- Solid communicator (written and verbal) and ability to build strong, effective relationships with team members, work colleagues and suppliers.
- Works independently on routine tasks with guidance and oversight from senior supply chain staff.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment and familiarity with Lean manufacturing methodology a plus.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- This role is primarily on-site, Monday through Friday, five (5) days per week. Occasional flexibility may be granted for specific circumstances with manager approval.

- Based out of Broomfield corporate office, with the ability to travel up to 20% of the time to meet with suppliers.
Salary Range
- Posting range: $65k - $75k
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
