Duties
- Perform automotive structural repairs, including frame straightening and sheet metal work, utilizing MIG welding, soldering, and fabrication repair techniques.
- Repair and replace damaged auto body panels, bumpers, doors, and other vehicle components using hand tools and power tools with precision.
- Conduct automotive dent repairs, sanding, sanding tools application, and auto restoration to achieve a smooth finish.
- Utilize automotive welding equipment for welding repair tasks such as welding repair of structural components or sheet metal fabrication.
- Apply automotive cosmetic repair techniques including auto painting, auto body refinishing, airless paint spraying, and detailing to ensure a flawless appearance.
- Install automotive parts such as auto glass, bumpers, trim pieces, and perform automotive parts installation with attention to detail.
- Assist in vehicle maintenance tasks related to auto restoration projects and perform heavy lifting safely when handling large or heavy vehicle parts.
- Collaborate with team members on auto estimating processes and communicate effectively with customers regarding repair progress.
Experience
- Proven experience working as an automotive body technician or similar role within a dealership or independent shop environment.
- Strong knowledge of automotive structural repair methods including sheet metal work and automotive welding repair techniques.
- Hands-on experience with MIG welding, soldering, fabrication repair techniques, and the use of various hand tools and power tools.
- Familiarity with auto painting processes such as auto body refinishing and airless paint spraying equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems to assist with auto restoration or mechanical repairs when needed.
- Experience in automotive cosmetic repair including sanding tools usage and detailing for a polished finish.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety standards related to heavy lifting and automotive repair procedures.
