Position Summary

No More Dust Maid Services is seeking dependable, professional, and detail-oriented Cleaning Technicians/Housekeepers to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of a high-rise condominium community in Alexandria, Virginia.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience cleaning high-rise residential buildings, condominiums, apartment communities, hotels, or commercial properties and understand the level of detail and professionalism required when working in an occupied luxury residential environment.

Cleaning Technicians will be responsible for maintaining assigned interior and exterior common areas throughout the property, including lobbies, hallways and corridors, elevators, stairwells, offices, restrooms, trash rooms, compactor rooms, garages, fitness centers, community rooms, rooftop and courtyard areas, and other resident common spaces.

This is an active residential community, so team members must be professional, courteous, reliable, and comfortable working around residents, guests, property management, maintenance personnel, and other building staff.

Responsibilities
Daily Cleaning & Housekeeping Duties

• Clean and maintain assigned lobbies and entrance areas
• Vacuum carpets and sweep and mop hard-surface and stone floors
• Clean entrance doors, interior glass, mirrors, and other glass surfaces
• Dust and clean furniture, tables, counters, ledges, and accessible surfaces
• Arrange furniture and maintain the overall presentation of common areas
• Clean and disinfect public restrooms and replenish supplies as needed
• Vacuum and spot-clean hallway and corridor carpeting
• Remove visible debris from hallways, corners, edges, and common areas
• Clean passenger elevators, including floors, doors, walls, mirrors, panels, thresholds, and tracks as assigned
• Remove fingerprints and smudges from elevator doors, panels, glass, and other high-touch surfaces
• Maintain stairwells, including sweeping/washing floors, wiping handrails, cleaning doors, and removing debris
• Clean and maintain mailrooms and mailbox areas
• Clean fitness centers and disinfect exercise equipment and high-touch surfaces
• Maintain community rooms, clubrooms, rooftop areas, courtyards, and other resident amenity spaces
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners
• Clean and maintain trash rooms and surrounding areas
• Remove recycling and transport it to designated collection areas as assigned
• Clean and maintain compactor rooms and assist with trash/compactor duties as assigned
• Break down cardboard boxes as required
• Police and sweep garages and exterior common areas
• Maintain sidewalks, loading areas, courtyards, rooftop patios, and other assigned exterior areas
• Report burned-out lights, property damage, safety hazards, spills, maintenance concerns, or unusual conditions to management promptly

The property scope specifically requires daily attention to trash rooms, including sweeping, mopping, disinfecting, cleaning around containers/compactors, removing spills and leaving the rooms clean, dry, and odor-free. Other assignments include garages, exterior areas, recycling, and compactor responsibilities.

Detail & Periodic Cleaning Duties

• Detail clean baseboards, doors, and door frames
• Clean fire extinguishers and surrounding areas
• Spot clean walls and remove marks
• Remove carpet spots and stains
• Clean corners, edges, light fixtures, and accessible detailed surfaces
• Clean interior glass and mirrors
• Clean elevator tracks and accessible metal surfaces
• Perform assigned floor buffing
• Vacuum and spot-clean carpets
• Assist with scheduled floor and specialty cleaning
• Maintain garages and exterior common areas
• Perform other cleaning duties assigned by the Property Manager, Supervisor, or No More Dust management

The property's task schedule specifically includes recurring detail cleaning of baseboards, doors/frames, fire extinguishers, carpet and wall spots, light fixtures, glass, high-touch areas, corners, and edges.

Resident & Property Service Expectations

Because this position is located within an occupied high-rise condominium community, all Cleaning Technicians are expected to:

• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times
• Be respectful of residents, guests, property management, and other building staff
• Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality
• Keep cleaning carts, equipment, supplies, and work areas neat and organized
• Use appropriate caution when cleaning high-traffic areas
• Place wet-floor signs and other safety signage when required
• Immediately address or report spills and potential safety hazards
• Avoid blocking elevators, hallways, entrances, and resident access whenever possible
• Follow all property-specific procedures and No More Dust Maid Services policies
• Follow all company safety requirements and OSHA guidelines
• Remain productive throughout the assigned shift and complete all scheduled areas before leaving

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of professional housekeeping or janitorial experience
• High-rise condominium, apartment, hotel, hospitality, or commercial property experience strongly preferred
• Experience cleaning lobbies, hallways, elevators, restrooms, and other high-traffic common areas preferred
• Experience with trash rooms, recycling, and/or compactor areas is a plus
• Floor-care experience, including carpet spot cleaning and floor buffing, is a plus
• Ability to work independently and follow a detailed daily task schedule
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleanliness standards
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills

• Dependable and punctual
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, coworkers, supervisors, and property management
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the Alexandria, VA worksite
• Ability to safely use commercial cleaning equipment and products
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and stair climbing throughout the workday
