We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing organization that supports highly regulated industries, including manufacturing, aerospace, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and industrial services. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys owning the month-end close process, improving financial processes, and partnering with leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about maintaining financial accuracy while helping drive operational improvements. Experience in service-based or regulated industries is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Analyze financial results and identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Reconcile bank accounts, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and balance sheet accounts.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
- Support external audits and prepare requested schedules and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with operations and department leaders to provide financial insights and recommendations.
- Assist with process improvements and accounting system enhancements.
- Support tax filings, sales tax reporting, and other compliance-related activities as needed.
- Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on accounting best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- CPA designation or CPA track preferred but not required.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial services, engineering, aerospace, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
- Experience supporting audits and maintaining strong internal controls.
- Familiarity with inventory, job costing, or project accounting is a plus.
- Experience improving accounting processes and implementing efficiencies.
