NM News Group is a growing network of independent, local newsrooms reporting on the public policy, politics, and community issues that matter most in New Mexico. Our advertising program helps New Mexico businesses and organizations reach civically engaged audiences who care about their communities.
Our news group includes weekly print and digital publications (Santa Fe Reporter and The Paper. (ABQ)), monthly print-only publications (Sandoval Signpost and Independent News (Edgewood), and a bi-weekly print publication (Corrales Comment), plus a network of digital-only publications including City Desk, NM Political Report and nm.news
We are seeking a results-driven Account Executive to help grow our advertising partnerships in the New Mexico media market.
The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with strong communication skills, a passion for building community, and a knack for connecting New Mexico businesses and organizations with values-aligned marketing opportunities. - Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, nonprofits, political campaigns, and agencies across New Mexico
- Identify potential advertisers and pitch digital sponsorship, newsletter ads, and branded content opportunities on NM.News and affiliated sites
- Draft and deliver advertising proposals based on standard rate cards and custom campaign options
- Coordinate with NM News Group editors and operations to fulfill sold campaigns and track performance
- Ensure timely follow-up with clients and maintain clear, professional communication
- Previous sales experience, especially in media, digital advertising, or local markets
- Self-directed and organized, with strong time management and organizational skills
- Familiarity with New Mexico communities and local businesses
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable making voice calls by telephone and with in-person meetings to discuss advertising options
- Comfortable using email, video calls, and productivity tools
