In this role, you will lead sustainment-focused test and evaluation efforts for MILSATCOM and NC3 systems, conducting independent testing and terminal operations in support of the Space Systems Command Program Management Office at Peterson Space Force Base. Responsibilities
- Design, plan, coordinate, and execute testing across a range of MILSATCOM and NC3 systems, including FAB‑T, Global‑ASNT, TDSPP, MMS, GBS, and related terminals, subsystems, and devices
- Conduct independent verification and validation of hardware and software modifications to assess impacts on system performance, interoperability, and mission readiness
- Provide engineering and technical support, including integration activities, communication circuit troubleshooting, anomaly resolution, and identification of software or hardware defects
- Evaluate system modifications, identify shortfalls or interoperability issues, and deliver clear technical assessments to the government customer
- Prepare and deliver technical documentation, including test plans, procedures, system configuration diagrams, engineering studies, white papers, and test reports
- Work in a state‑of‑the‑art laboratory environment to efficiently test system upgrades and improvements
- Apply established government T&E and SEIT processes to sustainment activities supporting legacy and transitioning telecommunication capabilities
- Utilize senior‑level problem‑solving and analytical skills to resolve complex technical challenges and drive actionable solutions
- Engage collaboratively with government, DoW organizations, and industry partners to achieve mission‑focused outcomes
- Support the Sustainment Integrated Product Team (IPT) in advancing Joint and Allied combat readiness across MILSATCOM and NC3 systems
- Travel up to 20% to CONUS and OCONUS locations as directed by the government customer
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship is mandatory). A clearance active within the last 24 months is considered current.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or similar technical discipline from an accredited university
- 10 years leadership/management experience
- 5 years experience with DoW/USAF/USSF test processes and documentation
- 5 years experience working with military or DoW civilian clients and managing professional relationships
- 5 years experience working in a highly competitive multi-contractor environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills.
- 5 years of Developmental Test (DT) experience supporting a DoW Lead Developmental Test Organization (LDTO) or other verification test organization
- 5 years of Operational Test (OT) experience supporting a DoW Operational Test Agency (OTA) or other validation test organization
- Proper handling and use of cryptographic equipment
- Understands basic principles of cyber security testing focused on DoW STIG compliance
- Possesses International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) certification (e.g., ASEP, CSEP, ESEP)
- Possesses knowledge of DoW mission system sustainment processes
- Understands Narrowband/Wideband/Protected SATCOM capabilities; previously operated/maintained one or more of the following systems: FAB-T, MMS, Global-ASNT and/or GBS
- Understands basic use of Jira/Confluence or other Digital Engineering (DE) applications (e.g., MBSE).
