Department: Engineering Job Status: Full Time
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports To: CAD Supervisor
Amount of Travel Required: minimal Positions Supervised: None
Hours: M-F day shift – overtime required
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the layout and detailing of mechanical assemblies/special machines. Prepare clear, complete and accurate assembly and detail drawings from rough sketches or notes in accordance with specified dimensions utilizing Computer Aided Design (CAD) system.
Essential Functions
- Prepare initial layout of proposed assembly.
- Prepare Bills of Materials as required.
- Select commercial components and materials of construction for individual parts based upon calculated loads and applied stresses.
- Sketch or complete detailed drawings of component parts. Includes specifying of dimensional tolerances, fits, thread classes, surface finishes, etc.
- Working knowledge of GD&T.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, get along with co-workers, and deal with colleagues effectively and professionally.
- A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required.
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education : An Associate’s Degree in CAD or Engineering
Experience : A minimum of 5-years experience in 3D CAD required
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD, Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault experience desired.

None required.

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
