What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Associate position at NLB Corp.?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide international and domestic shipping quotes for the sales and customer service departments
- Keep in communication with the sales staff on the status of the shipments, ETD, ETA and shipping
- Maintaining the Shipping Schedule.
- Enter any important/special instructions for the orders, i.e. shortages, manual info, shipping info etc.
- Expediting order shortages and communicating shortage information to the Production Group.
- Work with freight companies to obtain competitive freight rates.
- Once the shipment leaves:
- Add the order to the ship report.
- Scan all paperwork to file.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, get along with co-workers, and deal with colleagues
- A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software; Manufacturing
software; Order processing systems; Microsoft Excel and Word Processing software.
Certificates & Licenses
Valid Michigan Driver's License.
Ability to pass Hi-Lo Driver Exam and receive a Hi-lo License.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Prefer knowledge of company products and services.
Prefer previous shipping knowledge.
Must be detail oriented.
Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
