What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bill Processing and Workflow Specialist position at NJM Insurance Group?
Reporting to a Supervisor in Medical Claim Services Bill Processing, the Bill Processing (BP) and Workflow Specialist is responsible and accountable for ensuring that medical documents are researched and processed within multiple applications. Timely and accurate processing is vital to ensuring that medical bills are routed to so they can be processed within regulatory timeframes. This position also includes processing a limited number of medical bills for payment, providing the opportunity for career progression.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, specific hours are subject to selected start times between 8:00am-9:00am pending supervisory approval. (Potential for hybrid schedule once fully trained.)
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Pay Range: $42,577-$49,488

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the workflow(s) of processing documents for both lines of business.
- Review and research documents in multiple systems.
- Update information in systems to ensure medical bills are routed for bill processing.
- Prioritize and balance daily workload.
- Accurately audit and process medical bills within statutory timeframes, by following medical coding guidelines and department policies and procedures.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate Degree and/or coding certification, preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of insurance and/or medical billing experience, preferred
- Team player with demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Analytical Skills
- Decision-making, problem solving and multi-tasking capabilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail oriented and demonstrates accuracy
- Demonstrates reliability and conforms to the company’s attendance policy
