What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quantitative Developer – Applied AI Research & C++ Engineering position at NJF Global Holdings Ltd?
Are you looking to work at the intersection of cutting-edge AI research and high performance systems engineering, where your code runs in live markets and your models directly drive trading outcomes?
We are hiring on behalf of a world-class systematic trading firm for a Quantitative Developer to work on one of the most technically demanding and intellectually stimulating mandates in the industry. This is not a pure research role and not a pure engineering role. It is a rare hybrid where applied AI research and production grade C engineering are inseparable, and where individual contribution is highly visible and directly rewarded.
What you will be working on
- Designing, training, and refining predictive models used directly in live trading strategies, from signal generation through to production deployment
- Implementing research ideas in high performance, production quality C , taking ideas from concept through to live systems with real P&L impact
- Working on model fitting, optimisation, and calibration problems at scale, pushing on generalisation, robustness, and signal quality
- Building and improving the research and simulation infrastructure that underpins the firm's alpha generation capabilities
- Partnering closely with core engineers and researchers in a highly collaborative, flat structured environment where the best ideas win
What we are looking for
- Strong academic background in a quantitative discipline, mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science, or related field
- Deep proficiency in C with a track record of writing high performance, production grade code
- Hands on experience in machine learning, deep learning, or statistical modelling applied to real world problems
- A research mindset combined with genuine engineering rigour, someone who can own an idea end to end
- Prior experience in systematic trading, quantitative finance, or high performance computing is a strong plus
- Low ego, collaborative, and comfortable operating with significant autonomy
Why this is different
- Applied AI research with direct, measurable impact on live trading outcomes, not an academic sandbox
- A small, exceptionally high calibre team where individual contribution is very visible and rewarded accordingly
- Full ownership of ideas from research and experimentation through to production deployment and iteration
- Flat structure, no bureaucracy, and a culture built around intellectual curiosity and rigorous thinking
- Exceptional compensation reflecting the calibre of the work, the team, and the results
If you are the kind of engineer and researcher who wants to work on genuinely hard problems where the quality of your thinking and your code translates directly into real world impact, this is that role.
Compensation
The estimated base salary range for this role is $250,000 to $300,000 per year. Total compensation, including performance-based bonus, is expected to range from $600,000 to $2,000,000 or above depending on experience, level, and individual performance.
