This National Guard position is for a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D0865000 and is part of the NJ USPFO, National Guard.
Qualifications:
General Experience:Experience, education or training involving administration of supply management, storage, cataloging, packaging and distribution or other work which provided the applicant with a general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field. Experience using computer and automation systems.
Specialized Experience:
Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training supervising and/or managing supply personnel and a variety of supply functions. Knowledge on the entire inventory management supply system. Experience coordinating with other organizations on complex and controversial supply issues. Experience providing advice and guidance on supply regulations to upper levels of management regarding supply functions. Experience analyzing, developing, evaluating to improve supply programs, policies, procedures, techniques, etc.
Responsibilities:
As a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST, GS-2001-11, you will:
- Incumbent is responsible for the operation of the Post Subsistence, Area Cantonment, Property Book, Petroleum Supply, General Supply and Warehouse Sections.
- Serves as the primary Property Book Officer (PBO), responsible for the accountability, financial accuracy, and lifecycle management of federal property and equipment under the USPFO.
- Collaborates with higher headquarters, NGB material managers, and external State stakeholders to synchronize sourcing, ensuring seamless integration of equipment coming into the state.
- Investigates and resolves complex property discrepancies and supply delinquencies.
- Serves as the alternate Lead Material Integrator (LMI) in Decision Support Tool (DST) to analyze equipment data, fulfill shortages, and strategically redistribute critical excess across the State or vet through DST to maximize organizational readiness.
- Assures an efficient safety program within the areas of responsibility.
- Supervises technicians, contract employees, and temporary employees engaged in support of the site to include subsistence, ammunition, billeting, warehouse and building issues.
- Develops and implements policies and programs required to provide maximum logistical support to using organizations conducting training at the site.
- Responsible for the preparation and timely submission of reports of petroleum serviceability and consumption; for ammunition reports covering forecasts from training commands, expenditures, and reports of malfunctions to higher headquarters to include HQ FORSCOM..
- Manages funds for the procurement of logistical and administrative supplies to support the site.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
