Blind Specialists is seeking a hands-on, results-driven General Manager to lead and scale operations, drive financial performance, and strengthen relationships with industrial customers.
This role requires a leader who can balance shop/manufacturing operations, field service execution, and commercial growth, while building a high-performance culture focused on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily operations across manufacturing, warehouse, and field service functions
- Ensure efficient production, inventory management, and on-time delivery
- Drive process improvements in machining, fabrication, and logistics
- Maintain high standards for quality, safety, and compliance (API/industry standards)
Sales & Customer Management
- Lead business development efforts with refineries, chemical plants, EPC firms, and contractors
- Strengthen key customer relationships and expand share of wallet
- Support turnaround planning and large capital project execution
- Partner with sales to drive revenue growth and improve margins
Financial Performance
- Own full P&L responsibility, including revenue, cost control, and profitability
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and operational plans
- Monitor KPIs such as utilization, turnaround time, and inventory turns
- Identify and implement cost-saving and efficiency initiatives
Team Leadership & Culture
- Lead, coach, and develop a team across shop, field, and administrative functions
- Build a strong accountability culture focused on performance and safety
- Recruit and retain skilled machinists, operators, and support staff
- Promote continuous improvement and operational excellence mindset
Safety & Compliance
- Champion a strong safety culture aligned with industrial and refinery standards
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA, environmental, and customer requirements
- Lead incident prevention, reporting, and corrective action processes
Qualifications
Required
- 7 years of leadership experience in industrial manufacturing, fabrication, or oil & gas services
- Strong background in machine shop operations, fabrication, or industrial services
- Demonstrated success managing P&L and driving operational performance
- Experience working with refineries, petrochemical plants, or industrial contractors
- Proven leadership ability in fast-paced, service-oriented environments
Preferred
- Experience with turnarounds, maintenance services, or rental equipment businesses
- Knowledge of API standards, pressure equipment, or industrial components
- Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement background
- CRM/ERP system experience
