The Medical Monitoring Program Coordinator manages the Medical Monitoring Programs for covered NJ Transit Employees and pre-employment candidates.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Responsible for the maintenance of the Medical Monitoring Program Databases, to include, but not limited to tracking compliance.
- Responsible for drafting and ensuring receipt of monthly/quarterly compliance reminder notices to covered employees.
- Reviews submitted compliance reports and determines if employee is compliant with established requirements.
- Notifies appropriate persons of noncompliant employees
- Administrates the enrollment, tracking, and provision of status updates to appropriate persons regarding preemployment candidates enrolled in the “OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnea) Pilot Program”
- Schedules pre-employment candidates for specialist provider evaluation, testing, and follow up appointments as necessary
- Liaison between Employee/Candidates, Providers and internal clinical staff as required
- Reviews and verifies applicable invoices.
- Tracks hiring status and insurance for pre-employment candidates as necessary
- Assists in other duties/tasks as assigned
- High School Diploma/GED required, Associates Degree in a healthcare related discipline required,. Experience in Occupational Health/Occupational Medicine preferred.
- Experience communicating directly with internal and external customers at all levels of the organization
- Experience handling confidential health information required
- Demonstrated prior experience with data tracking, monitoring, reconciliation and follow-up required
- License to practice nursing (RN or LPN) in the state of NJ required. Two (2) to three (3) years clinical experience (hospital, medical facility or physician’s office) desired.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Knowledge of obstruction sleep apnea (OSA) is preferred
- Proficient use of computers and software – specifically Microsoft Office Suite required
- Strong interpersonal communication skills – must be able to interact effectively with all levels of the organization, internal and external customers, medical staff, patients and sleep center.
- Excellent organization, administrative and multi-tasking skills required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Active and unrestricted NJ Nursing License desired
