Roles And Responsibilities
This position is deemed safety sensitive per the Department of Transportation (DOT) Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulations. The DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of marijuana for any reason. It is unacceptable for any safety-sensitive employee subject to drug testing under DOT regulations to use recreational or medical marijuana. The prohibition includes any derivative of marijuana such as CBD oils, teas, etc. The use of recreational and medical marijuana is a violation of NJ TRANSIT’s Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy for safety-sensitive employees.

Roles And Responsibilities
- Clean New Jersey Transit’s railcars (exterior and interior) and components thoroughly
- Clean work areas around railcars and at New Jersey Transit’s properties as assigned
- Read and follow instructions and safety information as necessary for proper and safe completion of assigned tasks
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Pass NJ Transit’s Aptitude Test.
- Work effectively in all weather conditions.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate well with others at all levels.
- Possess the ability to adapt in a changing environment.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Work as a team member and independently.
- Successfully pass background, drug screening and physical.
- Present a valid high school diploma or GED.
- Prior warehouse or shipping/receiving experience.
- Prior operation of forklift and/or other heavy equipment.
- Prior experience with heavy labor.
- Mechanically inclined.
