Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections on elevator systems, including hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical components.
- Troubleshoot issues using schematics, technical manuals, and analysis skills to identify root causes efficiently.
- Repair or replace elevator parts such as motors, controllers, switches, and safety devices while adhering to safety protocols.
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs), ammeters, ohmmeters, and precision measuring instruments for diagnostics and adjustments.
- Conduct welding (including
welding) and mechanical repairs using industrial mechanic experience to restore system functionality. - Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities within Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Collaborate with field service teams and provide technical support for elevator installations or upgrades in manufacturing facilities.
- Ensure compliance with high voltage and low voltage electrical standards during all repair activities.
- Operate equipment such as scissor lifts safely to access elevated components during maintenance tasks.
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members to deliver excellent customer service and technical solutions.
Skills
- Extensive experience in industrial maintenance within manufacturing facilities, including elevator systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by expertise in hydraulics, HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration), and electrical systems.
- Proficiency with schematics, technical manuals, and analysis skills for troubleshooting complex elevator issues.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), high voltage systems, low voltage wiring, ammeters, ohmmeters, and precision measuring instruments.
- Skilled in welding techniques specific to
welding standards for structural repairs. - Knowledge of industrial electrician practices combined with field service experience in manufacturing environments.
- Ability to operate scissor lifts safely for elevated work tasks while maintaining strict safety protocols.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and problem resolution.
