Duties
- Install, repair, and replace garage doors, openers, and related hardware with precision and attention to detail
- Conduct routine inspections to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively for door hanging, framing, and fabrication tasks
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure accurate installation and repairs
- Perform electrical work related to garage door openers and safety sensors while adhering to building code compliance
- Fabricate or modify components using welding, metal stud framing, or carpentry techniques as needed
- Assist with construction site tasks such as metal framing, trim carpentry, caulking, fixture installation, and cabinet setup
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building regulations while managing heavy lifting safely
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs or installations clearly and professionally
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction, remodeling, or handyman roles with a focus on door installation or repair
- Mechanical knowledge of garage doors, openers, locks, and related systems
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics reading
- Strong carpentry skills including trim carpentry, framing, cabinetry installation, and blueprint interpretation
- Electrical experience relevant to garage door openers and sensor wiring
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately
- Experience working on construction sites or in remodeling projects involving metal stud framing or fixture installation
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights safely
