What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at Nix Industrial?
Role: Material Handler
Division: Custom Fabrication
Location: Poseyville, IN
Reports To: Custom Fabrication Operations Manager
The Material Handler handles and maintains flow of materials and products in processing areas according to established guidelines.
How You Will Do It:
▪ Receive and store parts needed for fabrication
▪ Sort parts and prepare for kitting for fabrication
▪ Ensure accuracy of kits provided
▪ Minimize machine and operator downtime
▪ Utilize the systems to track material being received
▪ Locate kits at the fabrication area as needed
▪ Load and unload equipment as needed
▪ Unload steel trucks and ensure materials are properly stored and labeled
▪ Use overhead cranes and forklifts to move material
▪ Ensures all company values are adhered to and promoted through leading by example and creating an environment of trust and teamwork
▪ Follows all company and common sense safety policies while using all required personal protective equipment
▪ Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
▪ Contribute to our team environment by anticipating the needs of co-workers, bringing a positive attitude into our culture and showing an eagerness to discover and share new opportunities for our organization
The Position Requires:
▪ Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used in shops
▪ Ability to lift 50 pounds as required without assistance
▪ Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professionalism in the workplace
▪ Strong organizational skills
