Position Title: Experienced Welder/Fabricator

Business Unit: Custom Fabrication – 1st Shift

Location: Poseyville, IN

Reports To: Operations Manager

As an Experienced Welder/Fabricator, you'll fabricate and weld a wide variety of custom steel projects from blueprints, fabrication drawings, and specifications. This role requires a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining NIX's quality and safety standards.

Our ideal candidate will:

• Fabricate and weld a wide variety of custom steel components and assemblies using MIG welding techniques
• Interpret complex blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work orders with minimal supervision
• Lay out, fit, tack, and assemble parts to precise specifications
• Produce high-quality welds that meet company and customer standards
• Inspect completed work to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications
• Safely operate fabrication equipment, overhead cranes, forklifts, and other shop equipment
• Work efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity
• Assist with mentoring less experienced team members when needed
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Participate in job-related training and continuously develop fabrication and welding skills
• Follow all company safety policies and use required personal protective equipment
• Contribute to team success by assisting with related duties as needed

Desired Qualifications

• 5 years of welding and fabrication experience preferred
• Strong MIG welding experience required; TIG experience is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and measuring tools
• Experience fabricating structural steel, custom equipment, or heavy industrial projects
• Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and other fabrication equipment
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Dependable with a positive attitude and commitment to quality craftsmanship
