Job Overview
NITE Equipment, located in Pecatonica, IL, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Shop Technician to join our team. This role involves working on trailers, vehicles, trucks, and heavy equipment, providing essential maintenance, repairs, and installations. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, welding skills, and a positive attitude, with a focus on delivering quality workmanship and long-term career growth.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and maintenance on many different kinds of trailers, trucks, vehicles, and heavy equipment. (Trailers will be the most common thing to work on.)
- Weld steel and aluminum components as needed for fabrication and repair projects.
- Install snowplows, hitches, truck beds, brake controls, and other accessories.
- Conduct diagnostics to identify mechanical or electrical issues.
- Remove, replace, and balance tires of all kinds.
- Handle 12V wiring installations and troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Work with hydraulic systems to repair or install components.
- Fabricate parts or modifications to meet specific job requirements.
- Help assist customers with trailer preparation and hook ups.
- Help unload and assemble trailers in all different types of weather conditions.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies.
- On the job training provided.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience working on trailers, vehicles, trucks, or heavy equipment.
- Skilled in welding steel and aluminum with the ability to fabricate metal parts.
- Experience installing snowplows, hitches, truck beds, brake controls, and related accessories.
- Strong diagnostic skills for electrical and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of 12V wiring systems and hydraulic components.
