Shop Technician - Class C
Department: Manufacturing
Reports to: Operations Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY
Entry-level position providing general shop floor support, pulling parts from the stockroom, organizing materials, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Assists higher-level technicians with basic tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pull parts and materials from the stockroom using pick lists.
- Assist with basic inventory tasks (e.g., directed cycle counts).
- Band outside wood.
- Organize and move used equipment, fiberglass floats, and electrical cable.
- Organize and maintain shop floor and buildings for cleanliness and safety.
- Safely operate material handling equipment (sit-down/stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, banding equipment) for basic movement tasks under supervision.
- Notify supervisor of any discrepancies, material shortages, or concerns.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Any other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to read and interpret basic job travelers and pick lists. Must be able to utilize small hand tools and operate material handling equipment (sit-down/stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, banding equipment) safely. Ability to prioritize tasks, organize materials, and communicate effectively. Must be computer literate for basic data entry. OSHA approved forklift operator’s license when required.

Exposure to odor, noise, dust, heat, cold, chemicals and other elements with one continuously present to the extent or being disagreeable.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma / GED or equivalent. Entry-level; prior related experience preferred but not required (on-the-job training provided).
