The Shop Assistant is responsible for the preventative maintenance, overall shop cleanliness, and inventory / ordering of raw materials. This position will also ensure accuracy of project materials and pre-cut in accordance with designs.

What You Can Expect To Work On…
The Shop Assistant is responsible for the preventative maintenance, overall shop cleanliness, and inventory / ordering of raw materials. This position will also ensure accuracy of project materials and pre-cut in accordance with designs.
- Maintains inventory and ordering of raw materials and sheet metal
- Verifies and maintains oil and coolant levels on all machines
- Cleans automated and manual machines
- Organizes and assembles consumables
- Maintains inventory and supply cabinets
- Performs preventative maintenance of CNC machines, manual machines, shears, air compressors, forklifts, and hydraulic presses
- Dresses and maintains grinders
- Pre-cuts materials in accordance with designs
- Maintains overall cleanliness of shops
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read, understand, and follow standard operation procedures (SOP) and work instructions
- Basic computer skills
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals
- Demonstrated ability to utilize standard hand tools
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

- Demonstrated ability to utilize standard hand tools
- Successful experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Full-time position
- Niowave’s standard operating hours are Monday – Friday 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. with production related activities requiring 24/7/365 shifts
- This position will have regular working hours Monday – Friday with an expectation of adjusting working hours outside the standard hours to meet operational requirements
- Niowave has multiple locations within the Lansing area and travel between locations is expected in the role
