What You Can Expect To Work On…
The Electrical Engineering Supervisor role encompasses leadership, operational excellence, and fosters a culture of safety, quality, continuous improvement, and the ideal staff member experience. This position will lead a team of electrical engineers and technicians to ensure safety, quality, and productivity of Niowave’s electrical systems in support of the staff who utilize them.
- Oversees the electrical design, development, testing, and upgrades for superconducting particle accelerators and periphery equipment with an emphasis on robust designs that can operate long-term in a challenging production environment
- Manages development, implementation, and support for electrical systems
- Leads staff members in providing electrical repairs and developmental support for both the accelerator and isotope laboratories
- Manages electrical maintenance, repair, and upgrade projects for Niowave facilities
- Manages staff performing electrical work through the company
- Collaborates effectively with a cross functional team to meet objectives and complete key initiatives
- Sets KPIs for the electrical group, communicates key program updates, and drives improvements in quality, safety, and productivity to ensure KPIs are met
- Interacts and maintains strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders including business partners, industry partners, and service providers
- Leads all operational efforts and identifies process improvements to increase efficiency and support strategic growth
- Establishes and maintains a technical direction and supervisory oversight structure for the department, including career progression and succession planning
- Ensures the onboarding, training, and career development of staff members
- Within the department and across the organization, fosters a culture of respect, safety, quality, and continuous improvement aligning with the mission, vision, and values of the organization

- B.S. in electrical engineering or related field or equivalent industry experience.
- 8 years of electrical engineering experience
- 3 years of supervisory experience including day-to-day activities of a team of 5 or more with demonstrated ability to build cohesive teams, establish career development tracks, and succession planning
- Previous electrical experience in a regulated environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead cross-functional teams
- Proven mechanical and electrical engineering aptitude
- M.S. in electrical engineering or related field or equivalent industry experience
- 10 years of electrical engineering experience
- 5 years of electrical engineering knowledge for accelerator development/operations
- Hands-on experience utilizing lean manufacturing principles for continuous process improvements (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5S)
- 5 years of supervisory experience including day-to-day activities of a team of 5 or more with demonstrated ability to build cohesive teams, establish career development tracks, and succession planning
- Full-time position
- The company’s standard operating hours are Monday thru Friday 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., with production-related activities requiring 24/7/365 shifts
- This position will have regular working hours Monday – Friday with an expectation of adjusting to working outside of the standard hours to meet operational requirements Niowave has multiple locations within the Lansing area and travel between locations is expected in the role
