Summary:
Focus on improving Health and Safety at the facility by using his/her experience to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control hazards in the workplace, with special focus on Electrical Safety, Equipment Pre-Start Safety Review and Process Safety Management (PSM). Evaluate workplace compliance with regard to local, state and federal regulations. Functions as an expert resource to teams for consistent implementation of company EHS standards and programs. Conducts inspections and ensures compliance with applicable EHS regulations and standards.
Responsibilities:
· Worked in one or more plant-wide safety, health and/or environmental programs, particularly Electrical Safety, Equipment Pre-Start Safety Review and Process Safety Management (PSM)
· Develop/update site specific programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations
· Conduct initial, second and final safety reviews on new equipment installation.
- Participate in design reviews and technical discussions
· Establish, coordinate and manage PSM for applicable chemical processes, with a focus on preventing hazardous incidents in process operation.
- Facilitate Management of Change (MOC) and Pre Start-up Safety Review (PSSR) analysis as required to effectively manage changes to a covered process, including, but not limited to creating and maintaining all required documentation.
- Work with Department representatives to inspect company facility for potential hazards to reduce the potential of loss, to further define hazards, and recommend improvements.
· Ensure timely communication of safety issues/concerns to department leadership
· Lead cross-functional teams to drive improvements across the organization
· Participate in incident investigations and track corrective actions
· Participate in emergency response drills and critiques
· Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
1. Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
2. Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
· Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Required:
- Knowledge in advanced manufacturing technology (automation)
- Experience with power, control, and communications equipment and circuits for a complex system
- Working knowledge of the latest National Electric Code (NEC)
- Understanding of AC voltage theory – single phase, three phase, and transformers
- Proficient in reading component specifications, electrical drawings, and circuit schematics
- Evaluation and qualification of 3rd party devices and equipment
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Must be comfortable working in a team setting
- Problem solving and analytical skills
