What are the responsibilities and job description for the Spa Manager position at NIOS SPA?
Join the Nios team! We are seeking a dynamic, team player full-time Manager to join our team at Nios Brooklyn. We stand out as a premier electrolysis permanent hair removal center and spa, with locations in Columbus Circle (Manhattan), Barclay's Center (Downtown Brooklyn) and Astoria (Queens).
At Nios, the Spa Manager isn’t a middle layer. You’re the operating brain of our Brooklyn location. You notice what’s off before it becomes a problem. You translate standards into behavior. You create calm, not chaos — even when the phone rings, a client is unhappy, and a team member needs guidance right now.
If you’ve ever thought, “I could run this place better,” keep reading.
Nios is rewriting the script on NYC spa care — combining high-performance esthetics with hospitality that’s warm, precise, and unreasonably attentive. Our managers don’t wait for permission. They run clean systems, coach humans (not robots), and protect the client experience like it’s their own reputation on the line.
This role is fully focused on our Brooklyn location. It’s hands-on, people-heavy, detail-rich — and deeply satisfying if you like turning complexity into order.
Responsibilities:
- Run our Brooklyn location with an “owner/operator” mindset and cultivate a phenomenal culture leading the team to deliver world class customer service.
- Sustain the signature Nios atmosphere of calm professionalism and genuine warmth.
- Ensure Front Desk tasks are completed with consistency, accuracy, and high standards.
- Leading our Brooklyn team; providing regular feedback, owning performance reviews & corrective actions, identifying training and development needs and opportunities.
- Overseeing staff scheduling, client books, & optimization.
- Directing the staff to the highest level of customer service, total customer experience, and operational excellence.
- Handling client complaints, aggregating and giving feedback to staff, suggesting and implement processes for improvement.
- Identifying trends and opportunities; recommending and implementing actions to drive spa performance; increase revenue, decrease expenses, and report KPIs.
- Managing the supplies and inventory system.
- Managing the facilities’ maintenance – equipment, cleanliness etc.
- Performs additional duties as needed.
How You’ll Win (First 6 Months):
First 30 Days
You understand the rhythm of the spa: staff strengths, client flow, operational friction points. The team trusts you. You’re visible, listening, and quietly fixing things.
By 90 Days
Scheduling is tight. Standards are consistent. Client issues are handled calmly and rarely escalate. KPIs are tracked, understood, and improving. The team knows what “great” looks like — and you hold the line.
By 180 Days
The location runs smoothly without constant intervention. Retention is strong. Revenue opportunities are identified and acted on. The culture feels steady, human, and proud of the work.
About You:
- You run operations with an owner/operator mindset
- You spot small issues before they become expensive ones
- You give feedback clearly and kindly — and don’t avoid hard conversations
- You care deeply about the client experience and the systems behind it
- You’re numerate enough to track performance and curious enough to improve it
- You don’t need a script to handle complaints — you listen, resolve, and improve the process
Qualifications:
- A minimum 2 years’ experience in spa or office management in the wellness or beauty industry.
- Strong organizational qualities and confidence, with sound communication and customer service skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality or related discipline preferred.
