Position description
The Ninth Circuit seeks to fill the Manager of Juvenile Court vacancy to serve as a facilities and operations lead for daily court operations. This role will serve as a point person and liaison for the court, working alongside judicial leadership, court directors, program managers, partner agencies and the public to ensure the smooth and safe operations of the Thomas S. Kirk Justice Center. This position will: work closely with Orange County Facilities to identify, report and oversee repair of building related issues; be actively involved with on-site construction and expansion projects; oversee office furnishings and scheduling of court resources and meeting spaces; provide basic IT support and troubleshooting of computer systems, virtual meeting equipment and leased copiers; oversee on-site asset inventory; be directly involved with assignment of office spaces, court ID’s, keys, phone assignments and staff parking. The role will also manage a purchasing card with the authority to make modest monthly purchases. Responsibilities will also include general fiscal and human resources functions and public relations support with the ability to manage and de-escalate issues in a professional and calm manner.
The Manager of Juvenile Court will be someone who easily cultivates positive relationships through professionalism and diplomacy. The position will work directly with judges, staff, partner agencies, vendors, security staff and others to effectuate positive changes that impact facility operations and safety. The selected candidate will also have experience handling sensitive situations and a demonstrate ability to manage multiple priorities with strong problem-solving skills and effective interpersonal communications.
Requires a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration or related field and 3-5 years of experience in court or government operations. Relevant experience may substitute for required education on a year-for-year basis. This position is an Orange County funded position headquartered at the Thomas S. Kirk Justice Center with full benefits. Salary: $66,478 - $87,838 based on relevant knowledge and experience.
