What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Device Sales Representative - Chicago, IL position at NinoMed?
Job Overview
Sell a product that is already approved. Just go grow it.
NinoMed is a surgeon-founded medical device company based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. We make single-use patient positioning products, including Trendelenburg positioning solutions, for the operating room: Safe-T-Secure®, the STS-BodyPad™ line, STS-Head-To-Toe™, and Cush-In It™. The company was founded in 2014 and named after the founder’s father, a pediatrician.
Here is what makes this territory different from most sales openings you are looking at: our products are already through value analysis and on contract at multiple Chicago-area hospital systems. You are not going to spend nine months fighting a VAC committee. The approval work is done. The job is getting into the OR, getting the product in front of the people who actually pull it for a case, and turning approved accounts into reordering accounts.
Compensation
$65,000 to $80,000 base salary plus uncapped commission. Total compensation exceeding $150,000 for top performers. We will walk you through the actual commission rate table on the first call.
What You’ll Do
- Cover cases and run in-services at approved facilities across the Chicago metro.
- Convert accounts that are approved but under-utilized into steady, predictable reorder volume.
- Build working relationships with OR managers, circulating nurses, surgical techs, materials management, and surgeons.
- Maintain vendor credentialing and OR access at every facility in the territory.
- Track activity and orders accurately so commissions and forecasts are clean.
- Identify the next tier of facilities in the region worth pursuing once the approved base is producing.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Two or more years selling into hospital operating rooms: disposables, positioning, instruments, or surgical capital.
- Current vendor credentialing (symplr, Vendormate, Green Security, or equivalent) at Chicago-area hospitals, or the ability to complete it quickly.
- Comfort scrubbing in and being present for cases, including early morning starts.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. This is a drive-around territory, and Chicago traffic is part of the job.
Strongly preferred:
- Existing relationships at Northwestern Medicine, Rush, UChicago Medicine, UI Health, Advocate Health Care, Endeavor Health, Loyola Medicine, or Ascension.
- Experience with patient positioning, OR tables and accessories, or surgical safety products.
- A track record of growing accounts that were already open and opening new ones.
Benefits
Paid time off, health insurance stipend, flexible schedule, and travel reimbursement.
