Agricultural Equipment Operator

Nilson Farms
Hoople, ND Temporary
POSTED ON 6/13/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 12/1/2026
We have a small family farm that raises about 4,500 acres of crop, including seed potatoes, wheat, soybeans, and canola. Potatoes assume the majority of the workload on the farm. Equipment prep for planting starts in February. In the spring, March to May, we will be shipping potatoes. This work includes employee operating a skid steer, driving truck, grading potatoes (picking out defects/debris), and operating other farm equipment. In April and May, planting season begins, which will have employee involved in tractor operation, tillage, planting, farm truck driving, and shop work. In the summer, crop care is required and preparing machinery for harvest. Employee will be spraying, driving water truck, handling chemicals, doing row crop tillage, and completing general farm duties as assigned. Harvest is in the fall, (August to October), beginning with wheat harvest. Employee will operate combine, truck, and tractor. Potato harvest begins in early September and continues into October. This requires a knowledgeable tractor operator for the potato harvester. After potato harvest, we begin to clean equipment and prepare fields for winter/next year e.g. pressure washing, tractor work (simple tillage), and finishing soybean harvest (combine operation). At the end of October, we begin to ship potatoes. Employee will need to complete routine repairs and maintenance on equipment. Per state regulations, employer is exempt from a commercial CDL requirement for farm trucking. No commercial or heavy truck driving is required. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience.
