NIKA is hiring for a Lead Journeyman Steamfitter for a base operations support services contract in Kodiak, AK!

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- The Lead Journeyman Steamfitter will supervise, evaluate, plan, and participate in the mechanical day-to-day operation, maintenance, repair and construction of the base steam utility system, building/facility distribution system(s) and equipment.
- The Lead Journeyman Steamfitter will serve as the primary supervisor, technician, and technical resource for the steam utilities and building systems.
Required Skills
- Must currently hold a State of Alaska Steamfitter Journeyman certification of fitness per 8 AAC 90.130.
- Minimum 10 years documented experience as a steamfitter where working on steam systems.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience supervising other workers who monitor, operate, maintain, and repair steam systems as well as associated equipment.
- Familiarity with and knowledge of the mechanical codes and best practices with regard to steam systems.
- Knowledge of the safety hazards and necessary safety precautions connected with steam systems.
