Job Overview

As part of the Prep Personnel at Nifty Fifty’s, you will be responsible for completing food preparation and performing basic kitchen tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the restaurant. Your efforts will help provide our guests with high-quality food and an excellent dining experience. You will work diligently to provide outstanding customer service, making our valued customers feel like part of our Nifty’s family.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Follows specific recipes and instructions to prepare menu items using basic kitchen equipment and preparatory utensils
• Prepares food items according to recipes, instructions and customer orders, and follows food handling and safety requirements
• Retrieves ingredients from appropriate areas by lifting and carrying to food preparation area
• Communicates shortage of menu items to Manager immediately
• Stores incoming food shipments properly in prep room, maintains prep room in a neat, orderly manner and ensures all food items are stored at the appropriate temperature
• Maintains a neat and orderly work area at all times
• Ability to properly operate a meat grinder and slicer
• Properly clean and sanitize equipment after each use
• Reports any health and/or safety concerns/violations immediately to management
• Complete daily and weekly cleaning projects
• Other additional tasks management may need assistance with

Qualifications & Requirements

• Ability to read and follow directions.
• Ability to place items on high and low shelves.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to withstand cold temperatures for long periods of time.
• Capable of using knives, slicing equipment, fryers, and other preparation materials.
• Organization skills
• Carry objects up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to wipe high and low shelves, pick up debris off the floor, sweep floor in station.
