What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Collector position at NIEER?
We are looking for Spanish-Speaking Data Collectors who may want to join our team working with families and early childhood centers in NJ.
Responsibilities
NIEER at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Data Collector. Assessors will be trained to work with families, children and centers in NJ. The work requires driving to assigned classrooms to administer tests or classroom observations. Among the key duties of this position are: scheduling appointments with schools, administering the assessments, reporting the number of completed assessments on a weekly basis to the Project Coordinator, and returning completed assessments to NIEER.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate students, applicants with a BA, or current upperclassman undergraduate students with a focus on child development, early childhood, psychology or related field, withholding an excellent academic record (GPA of 3.0 or better).
- Knowledge about child development and developmentally appropriate early childhood teaching practices is preferred (e.g. Teacher).
- Experience in classroom settings and/or working with children.
- Ability to write, speak, and read Spanish is helpful if feasible.
