Nidec Mobility America Corporation(NMOA) is looking for an energetic and focused Program Manager within our ‘Hybrid-to-remote’ work environment. NMOA (St. Charles, IL), headquarters our family of Companies with facilities in the USA, Canada, Germany and Mexico (with our Sales Team based in Detroit Metro). The position is located in St. Charles, IL.
A little about Nidec Mobility.. We are the North America headquarters for Nidec Mobility America (locations in Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Canada, Mexico) and a leading Automotive Electronics Designer and manufacturer of sophisticated electronic sensing and control technology / components. We control the most discrete functions within an automobile, including: power system components, complex user interfaces, seat and power window switches, and instrument panel controls, electronic sensing/radar.
Objective
The Program Manager is responsible for successful product launch in terms of overall customer satisfaction, meeting program schedule requirements and meeting program profitability targets. The Program Manager will manage the development process from concept quotation through the post-SOP (start of production) management gate review with the support of the program cross-functional team.
Essential Responsibilities
- Serves as a primary interface to customers and account managers, development process management, management of program cross-functional teams, review and negotiation of quotations and sales contracts, and leadership of VA/VE (value added/value engineering) and continuous process improvement programs.
- Development and management of program plans to general APQP and specific Nidec Mobility America development processes.
- Prepare reports and summaries of program status for team review and generation of cross-functional team metrics.
- Management of Nidec Mobility cross-functional teams.
- Plan and conduct program gate reviews.
- Act as the Nidec Mobility interface to customer contacts: Meet with customers on a regular basis to account for the status of current programs, confirm compliance to customer information system requirements, generate reports, and monitor pilot requirements.
- Act as the Nidec Mobility interface to the Nidec Mobility America account managers: Evaluate new business opportunities and justify investment, review and negotiate quotations, prepare program planning related presentation material.
- Track actual costs against planned costs: Finished part cost, Development cost, Capital expense.
- Supports / Implements the ISO14001 Environmental Policy as it pertains to work activities.
- Experience with business planning activities such as cost analysis, price negotiation, quotation review and capacity planning.
- Comfortable working with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949.
Experience
- 3 Years’ Program Manager / Project Management experience in automotive industry
- 3 Years’ Manufacturing / Electronics environment
- 3 Years’ APQP
- 1 Years’ VAVE leadership
- PMP Certification, a plus
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree (BSME / BSEE / BSIE, etc. preferred) or BBA w/ strong mechanical/electronics experience/aptitude preferred
Certifications:
- PMP Certification desired, but not required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
- Experience with electronic/mechanical design and manufacturing processes.
- Strong oral/written communication skills including email and meeting coordination.
- Strong analytical, problem solving ability while effectively managing time and resources.
- Work independently, and use judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Travel
- Up to 10%
