We are actively seeking a highly skilled Robotics Engineer to join a growing aerospace & defense manufacturing organization in Columbus, MS. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with strong Fanuc robotics, industrial automation, and manufacturing systems experience to support advanced automated production operations in a high-reliability environment.
This role will focus on the programming, integration, troubleshooting, optimization, and continuous improvement of robotic manufacturing systems.
π§ Key Responsibilities
β Program, troubleshoot, and optimize Fanuc robotic systems
β Support robotic weld cells, automated assembly, machine tending, and material handling systems
β Work with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, servos, motion controls, and industrial automation systems
β Improve manufacturing efficiency, reliability, quality, and production throughput
β Support automation integration, equipment commissioning, FATs, and system startups
β Troubleshoot robotic, controls, electrical, and communication system issues
β Partner closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams
β Support NPI activities, tooling integration, process development, and continuous improvement initiatives
β Develop technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, and maintenance procedures
β Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to automation performance
β Qualifications
β 5 years of hands-on industrial robotics and automation experience
β Strong experience with Fanuc robot programming and troubleshooting
β Experience with PLCs, HMIs, motion controls, and industrial automation systems
β Experience with robotic welding, automated assembly, machine tending, or material handling systems
β Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in manufacturing environments
β Ability to read electrical schematics, control drawings, and automation documentation
β Aerospace, defense, automotive, or other high-reliability manufacturing experience preferred
π Education
Bachelorβs degree required in:
- Electrical Engineering
- Controls Engineering
- Mechatronics Engineering
- Software Engineering
- Or related engineering field
β Fanuc certifications, PLC certifications, or automation-related certifications are highly preferred.
