Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling and sanitation practices
- Ensure food safety standards are adhered to during all stages of food preparation and service
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and timely serving of dishes
- Follow food safety management protocols, including proper knife skills, slicing techniques, and portion control
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality and presentation standards
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and excellent customer service
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Proven background in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant environments with familiarity in food industry practices
- Knowledge of food safety standards, handling procedures, and kitchen equipment operation is essential
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and other team members
- Demonstrated ability to follow safety standards in production environments and maintain high hygiene levels
- Catering experience or involvement in food service operations will be considered an asset
