Other business-related duties may be assigned. Follows all IATF16949 & ISO14001 Procedures and Work Instructions in the performance of the following duties:

  • Assists the Production Supervisor in the supervision of all departmental employees on the shift. Interprets company policies to employees and enforces safety regulations.
  • Assists in assigning the resources for manufacturing parts and adjusts operations to meet production schedules, as directed by Production Scheduling and the Operations Manager.
  • Assigns job orders to production employees and prioritizes and assigns setups to Die Setters and Secondary Setups.
  • Works with Quality Assurance personnel to verify part conformance to specifications.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Performs required safety and quality audits.
  • Completes the required Shift Reports.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and assists in resolving operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to prevent operational delays.
  • Understands the operation of the machinery and equipment. Takes corrective safety measures to shutdown machinery and equipment when necessary.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems and assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities between departments and shifts verbally and through email shift communication

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in supervising employees in the Mix Room, Molding, Sintering, Sizing, Secondary, and Tumbling Departments.

  • Also assists in providing supervision to the Machine Shop, Quality, Maintenance and Shipping.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Interprets company policies to employees and enforces safety regulations.

  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associates degree from a two-year college or technical school; or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as rates, percentages and sums. Ability to apply concepts of basic arithmetic and algebra.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must hold a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate in the office area and loud in the manufacturing area. Appropriate PPE must be worn where required.

Responsible for assisting with the management of production-related activities in a manner that provides a safe work environment with high part quality in sufficient quantities to meet internal and external customer requirements. Participates in developing and or revising production methods to incorporate Lean Manufacturing principles.
