DISTRIBUTION CENTERS
As one of the largest independent food distributors in the Intermountain West, Nicholas and Company delivers over 10,000 products throughout a six-state area. Our partnerships and distribution area ensures Nicholas and Company’s ability to serve the diverse needs of the food service industry for years to come.
Nicholas and Company has three distribution centers varying in storage capacity to efficiently and safely store quality products in optimal condition for our customers. Our Warehouse team members go through extensive training to ensure safety and accuracy.

JOB DESCRIPTION
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and professional individual to build their career with our Operations Team as a WAREHOUSE LEAD. This is a dynamic role where you will be a key part of our Operations Team with objectives including:

- Develop, implement, and maintain programs to enhance productivity, recognition, and accuracy and any other projects as assigned by the department head
- Effectively communicate with operations teams, to inform and/or provide solutions for customers and proactively solve problems

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for leading a team of 30 Team Members
- Manage/ oversee Day Operations across multiple areas such as; Receiving, Unloading, Will Call/Fulfillment
- Establish, Maintain and Manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) consistent with business demand and Company goals
- Supervise and direct the designated teams
- Maintain department operations reports & logs
- Enforces safety & Company policies
- Assist warehouse TMs, business partners and/or carrier’s concerns as needed
- Solicit suggestions from staff to improve processes as needed.
- Interact effectively with other departments within the organization.
- Operate a variety of warehouse equipment and vehicles as required; arrange for the maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment as needed.
- Train and coach Team Members in operations and help create a positive work environment for team members.
- Provide work direction and coordinate the schedules and activities of assigned personnel;
- Plan, oversee and participate in Warehouse Operations and activities: to assure stock and Warehouse facility is maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
- Assist with other tasks given by management as needed
- Prepared to work in temperatures as low as -10, as our warehouse includes dry, cooler and freezer storage. We’ll provide the cooler/freezer wear
- Lift (up to 75lbs) and bend throughout your shift
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Adhere to company policies and safety procedures.
- Assist with other tasks as needed.
- Complete other duties and assignments as directed by your supervisor/manager
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Additional tasks as assigned by Leadership
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Able to operate and have a basic understanding of mechanical operation of pallet jack, Reach forklift, man-lift and other such warehouse equipment
- Must possess basic math skills and have the capacity to retain numbers
- At least two years of increasing responsibility in a warehouse or distribution setting.
- Demonstrate the ability to make timely decisions using sound judgment
- Strong Computer skills with experience in a Pick-Pack line setting
- Experience operating Electric Pallet Jack and/or Reach Forklift
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds repetitively as well as bend and reach for product when needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates degree or equivalent related experience.
- At least 2 years of previous supervisory or management experience.
- Previous experience in implementing new systems and procedures.
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office.
- Learn quickly, be responsive to training, and possess ability to apply what is learned.
- Self-motivation and the ability to communicate and coordinate with other employees including entry level team members and upper management.
- Previous experience working in a similar setting.
- Previous experience in a warehouse
- Ability to train, motivate, coach and lead team members
- Ability to interact effectively with other departments within the organization
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up-to 75 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Team Player: Ability to work well with others in a team environment, contributing to the overall success of the warehouse operation.
- Safety Awareness: Understanding of and adherence to warehouse safety procedures and guidelines.
- Self-motivated with the ability to develop relationships and work with a wide variety of people with minimal supervision
