Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement warehouse strategies to optimize space utilization, streamline workflows, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control processes, including receiving, storing, picking, and shipping of goods. Ensure accuracy of inventory records through regular cycle counts and audits.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate warehouse staff to achieve performance targets and maintain high levels of productivity. Provide training as needed to ensure team members are equipped with necessary skills.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety standards and procedures to create a safe working environment for all warehouse personnel. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any issues promptly.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy and integrity of outbound shipments. Address any quality issues and collaborate with relevant teams to resolve them.
- Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems. Ensure equipment is properly maintained and serviced to minimize downtime.
- Vendor Relations: Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely receipt of goods and resolve any issues related to shipments or deliveries. Negotiate favorable terms and pricing when necessary.
- Performance Metrics: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to warehouse operations, such as order fulfillment rates, inventory turnover, and on-time delivery. Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, reduce costs, and increase overall efficiency within the warehouse. Solicit feedback from team members and implement best practices accordingly.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of warehouse activities, including inbound and outbound shipments, inventory levels, and performance metrics. Generate regular reports for management review.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar role, with a track record of success in optimizing operations and leading teams.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management principles, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members at all levels.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software applications.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve performance.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Forklift certification and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles are a plus.
