POSITION INFO:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for general and preventive maintenance work of machines, equipment building and plant facilities. Shift is A3, 7p to 7a.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for general maintenance work of mechanical equipment, hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, quench conveyors, quench tanks, water leaks, etc.
Preventive maintenance of facility equipment.- Knowledge in the proper operation of welding equipment and cutting torch.
- Assists plant service specialist in mechanical and electrical work as required.
- Working knowledge of all plant utilities, locations, and color coding for servicing.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards which are required for proper installations and work for compliance of regulations.
- Utilize fall-arrest system to perform work at heights greater than 4 feet.
- Responsible for housekeeping of work area.
- Responsible for safety of oneself and others.
- Performs any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two years in maintenance field desired. Must maintain a good attendance record, have necessary tools, and strong ability/knowledge in at least one phase of maintenance work.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Work-Ready Certificate a plus
COMPETENCIES:
- Able to achieve acceptable results on a standard Mechanical Aptitude test
- Verbal & written communication skills
- Teamwork/cooperation
- Detail orientated
- Handle multiple priorities
TRAINING AND SKILLS:
- Mechanical and pneumatic knowledge
- Welding and cutting torch skills
- Some electrical knowledge desired.

- Subject to standing for extended period
- Working on wet surfaces
- Ability to lift-up to 50 lbs. or more
- Extreme temperatures up to 110 degrees in summer months
