Registered Dietetic Technician

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center is currently hiring a Full Time Registered Diet Technician.

MAIN FUNCTION:

To perform functions of clinical nutrition services, such as nutrition assessment, modified diet formulation and self-management training. Specialty areas include diabetes, renal and nutrition support.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

Provides high quality medical nutrition therapy. Participates in managerial responsibilities. Participates in organization’s community programs to promote proper nutrition. Maintains commitment to profession growth, maintains technical and scientific knowledge pertinent to field of nutrition. Maintains effective written and verbal communication. Accepts responsibility for own attendance and punctuality to ensure the department is operated in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Clinical nutrition competence. One or more years clinical experience.
• Current knowledge of Process improvement concepts
• Current knowledge of medical nutrition therapy relating to all age specific populations
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Competent written/oral skills.
• Mature judgement and critical thinking skills

EDUCATION:

• AAS/BS in Dietetics from an accredited program approved by the Academy of Dietetics

Registration:

• With the commission of Dietetic Registration
