Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Float Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and long-term care setting.
- Float between nursing units to support resident care and staffing needs.
- Assess, monitor, and document changes in resident conditions.
- Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions according to physician orders.
- Collaborate with Registered Nurses (RNs), physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Maintain accurate electronic nursing documentation.
- Supervise and support Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
- Respond promptly to changes in resident condition.
- Promote resident safety, infection prevention, and quality care throughout the facility.
- Current Alabama Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, post-acute care, or geriatric nursing is preferred but not required.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly while working across multiple nursing units.
