NHI is currently seeking an upbeat, high-energy CNC Machine Operator / Machinist to join our production team in Claremont, NH. In this role, you will be a critical part of our manufacturing process responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the equipment that drives our business forward.

What You Will Do
- Setup & Operation: Independently set up, calibrate, and operate various types of manufacturing equipment and CNC machinery. Handle the daily loading and unloading of components and perform tool changes and offsets.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor production, inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, gauges), and record all inspection and labor data accurately to ensure we meet acceptable quality and production standards.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform basic preventative machine maintenance and proactively determine and report any equipment malfunctions to the Department Lead.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment while strictly adhering to safety guidelines and ISO 9001 standards.
- Team Collaboration: Meet regularly with co-workers, engineers, and management to ensure production activities meet or exceed corporate expectations.
What You Bring to the Table
- Experience: 1–3 years of general work experience, with a strong preference for candidates with 3 years of experience with material handling or operating machinery in a manufacturing environment.
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred; technical school certification in machining is a strong plus.
- Technical Aptitude: Basic math and reading comprehension skills. The ability to read, learn, and retain manufacturing prints, processes, and technical drawings.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, paired with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Must be proactive and collaborative.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to physically lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds safely.
- Ability to stand for extended periods (6 hours).
- Requires manual dexterity and visual acuity to inspect small parts.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, moderate to high noise levels, and manufacturing coolants/oils.
