Position Summary

This role combines order scheduling and batching responsibilities for a truss manufacturing operation. The Scheduler places orders on the schedule and communicates schedule changes. The batcher ensures jobs are sorted in the most efficient order to support smooth shop flow.
Role 1: Scheduler Responsibilities
- Process all orders and send order confirmation to the lumberyard salesman
- Schedule all truss orders for production and delivery
- Contact the assigned lumberyard salesperson approximately one week before
production to confirm the job is still on schedule and has no pending changes or
approvals
- Contact the lumberyard salesperson and/or end customer the day before production to
confirm the job is still good to go
- Communicate schedule changes clearly with internal team and customers
- Track job status and write clear, accurate notes for every order
Role 2: Batcher Responsibilities
- Prepare orders for production by sorting trusses of an order in the correct build
sequence. This involves considering the full production process and how the order of
the trusses will affect each department (Saw, Manufacturing, Staging, and Delivery)
- Balance efficiency, workflow, and production constraints
- Continuously look for ways to improve batching logic and production flow
Maintain a high level of detail and consistency, as errors affect the entire shop
Required Skills & Abilities (Combined Role)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Friendly and well-spoken with customers
- Comfortable making frequent phone calls and following up
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational habits
- Ability to manage multiple jobs and deadlines at once
- Good judgment and the ability to determine when a job is truly ready for delivery
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Ability to think through processes, not just tasks
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience in truss manufacturing, construction, or production environments
- Experience with scheduling, batching, or order coordination
- Familiarity with production or order management systems

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
