What You’ll Do:
Carrier Development & Strategic Partnerships:
- Identify, source, and develop high-performing carrier partnerships aligned with NFI Brokerage’s long-term strategy.
- Lead carrier onboarding and qualification processes while ensuring compliance and risk standards are met.
- Build and maintain a strong carrier pipeline focused on service, reliability, and profitability.
- Negotiate spot and contractual rates to maximize margins while maintaining competitive market positioning.
- Manage carrier allocation strategies to support network optimization and customer growth.
- Develop strong carrier relationships through regular communication, business reviews, and performance coaching.
Operations & Capacity Management:
- Make real-time operational decisions regarding carrier assignments, load coverage, and capacity solutions.
- Analyze market trends, lane data, and pricing analytics to support strategic decision-making.
- Monitor carrier KPIs, service performance, and scorecards to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Partner with sales and account management teams to support growth initiatives and customer needs.
- Resolve service, compliance, and operational issues with professionalism and urgency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, carrier engagement, and operational efficiency.
Leadership & Industry Expertise:
- Serve as a transportation market expert and trusted advisor to internal stakeholders.
- Mentor junior brokerage and capacity team members on sourcing, negotiation, and relationship management best practices.
- Participate in forecasting, budget planning, and margin improvement initiatives.
- Represent NFI Brokerage at industry and carrier events to strengthen partnerships and expand market presence.
- Champion NFI’s culture of safety, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in transportation brokerage, carrier management, logistics, or capacity operations.
- Strong understanding of domestic truckload markets, lane trends, and carrier networks.
- Proven success in negotiating rates, managing margins, and developing carrier relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Experience using TMS platforms, Excel, and reporting/analytics tools.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
We are excited to share that the base salary range for this position is $63,697.92 - $75,000.00. NFI takes into consideration applicants' qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location when determining a starting rate of pay.
Employees are also eligible for a robust benefit program, which includes Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drug Coverage, 401 (k) Plan, Wellness Program, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Paid Parental Leave, among other benefit plan options. In addition, employees receive 4 hours of paid time off in Year 1 every bi-weekly pay period and 8 paid holidays.
