Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with shippers, carriers, and 3PL providers to ensure reliable freight solutions.
- Coordinate transportation planning by matching freight loads with appropriate carriers using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other logistics software.
- Negotiate rates, contracts, and service terms with carriers to optimize pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Manage inside sales activities including lead generation, account management, and customer retention strategies to expand business opportunities.
- Oversee freight dispatching, carrier sales, and transportation management system data entry to ensure accurate tracking and timely deliveries.
- Collaborate with logistics teams on transportation planning, scheduling, and dispatching to streamline operations across the supply chain.
- Engage in B2B sales efforts by presenting tailored logistics solutions that meet client needs while maximizing profit margins.
Experience
- Proven experience in supply chain management or transportation management roles within a freight or logistics environment.
- Strong background in logistics sales, carrier relations, or 3PL operations with a focus on freight brokering or transportation sales.
- Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable contracts while fostering positive carrier relationships.
- Knowledge of freight regulations.
- Experience managing accounts through inside sales channels, including lead generation and customer retention strategies.
- Ability to handle data entry accurately, coordinate dispatching activities efficiently, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
