POSITION: Custodian/Housekeeper
DEPARTMENT: Facilities
SUPERVISOR: Director of Operations
STATUS: Non-Exempt
SHIFT: PRN
SUMMARY: The custodian/housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
PROVIDES safe and clean environment though Nexus Family Recovery Center.
ASSURES all buildings on the main campus and location on Buckner Blvd. are clean and safe for staff, clients and visitors.
ASSURES that the cleaning supplies and equipment are maintained, stocked, and ordered in a timely matter.
REPORTS any maintenance concerns to the Chief Operations Officer.
ASSISTS with the upkeep of all buildings and grounds of Nexus Family Recovery Center.
ASSISTS on the weekend or after hours when needed.
DEMONSTRATES regular predictable attendance and punctuality
OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
- Current driver’s license and good driving record required
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning methods and approaches
- Basic mechanical skills.
- Willing to learn other duties.
- Good verbal communications skills.
- A clear understanding of the cleaning industry standards

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: GED or High School Diploma preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to consumers, clients, and employees of the organization in one-on-one situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems involving a variety of concrete variables in standardized situations.
QUANTITY OF WORK:
Ability to performs assigned duties and responsibilities with neatness, accuracy and a degree of excellence in a timely manner.
