Job Summary
Nexus Disposal is seeking a reliable and hardworking Container Delivery Driver responsible for delivering and retrieving waste containers for residential and commercial customers. This role requires consistent physical activity, including lifting, pushing, and pulling containers weighing 50–75 pounds.
Drivers will frequently mount and dismount the truck throughout the day and must be able to maneuver containers that may not have wheels or handles. Physical demands may vary depending on route and site conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
- Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times
- Communicate professionally with customers and dispatch
- Address, document, and report customer concerns or service issues
- Complete daily driver logs and required paperwork accurately
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Read and follow route maps and service instructions
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain
- Perform repetitive physical tasks, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and walking
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating a CDL-required vehicle within the past 7 years
Certifications and Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid Class A CDL with air brakes endorsement (state-specific)
- Clean driving record
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to read, write, and speak English to communicate effectively and complete required documentation
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, motor vehicle record check, and DOT physical
Work Environment
This position requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Drivers will frequently enter and exit the vehicle and handle containers that may not have wheels or handles. Truck cabs may have limited amenities, including minimal or no air conditioning.
