Job Schedule: Monday – Friday, Saturdays as required Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Job Summary: We are currently seeking a dedicated Collections Specialist with a primary focus on collections activities. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, as they will be responsible for researching account activity, resolving overdue accounts, and serving as the primary point of contact for clients considering discontinuing services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Collections: In order to be successful in this role, the individual must satisfactorily perform the following essential duties, with the possibility of additional minor duties as assigned:
- Initiate telephone and/or email contact with customers with overdue amounts, determining reasons and arranging for collection or adjustment to correct errors in accounts.
- Manage approximately 80-100 outbound/inbound calls daily.
- Negotiate payment plans with customers, adhering to guidelines for follow-up on payment plans.
- Resolve collection disputes by making inquiries, conducting research, and communicating effectively with customers.
- Maintain detailed records of all delinquent accounts through comprehensive collection notes.
- Handle customers in bankruptcy by following established procedures for recording and monitoring bankruptcies.
- Process and resolve NSF transactions.
- File legal documents and attend court proceedings as necessary.
Qualifications: The requirements listed below represent the qualifications necessary to perform the job:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish with fluent ability and proper grammar)

- Financial skills and knowledge of commonly used collections practices and procedures
- Full proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

Education and Experience: Required: High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of previous collections experience. Preferred: Applicable training or experience in a high-volume call center, with experience in commercial customers and business-to-business collections or customer service.
