What are the responsibilities and job description for the ICT System Designer & Project Manager position at Nexus Communications Technology?
As a Telecommunications Designer/Project
Manager, you will be responsible for designing and implementing
various low voltage and communication systems for building
projects. This includes designing and installing LAN/WAN networks,
structured low voltage wiring systems, CCTV and security systems,
IP and analog voice systems, audio/visual systems, and wireless
systems such as BLE/RFID. You will work on multiple projects at a
time and may act as a technical expert on specialized designs. You
will be responsible for preparing engineering drawings and
specifications, conducting site visits to assess project needs,
reviewing technical documents, and communicating with customers
and vendors throughout the design process.
You
should have experience designing and installing low voltage and
communication systems, as well as knowledge of power distribution
and industry standards such as ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards. You
should also be proficient in using software such as AutoCAD and
Bluebeam and Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and
Outlook. Experience with QuoteWerks and System Surveyor are also a plus.
Besides
the technical aspects of the role, you will also need strong
interpersonal and time management skills, as you may be working with
multiple teams and stakeholders. You should have excellent written
and verbal communication skills and be able to present technical and
non-technical information clearly and effectively. You may also be
responsible for performing end-user training, overseeing the
inspection, design, testing, and evaluation of cabling
infrastructures, and preparing relevant documentation such as
meeting minutes, status reports, and punch lists. You may also act
as a telecommunications contact between clients, architects, and
third party engineers, and attend site visits with clients, project
teams, and other third party engineers as needed.

Strong knowledge of BICSI industry cable standards and standards.

Technology room design experience.

Knowledge of cable manufacturers and components

Good understanding of connectivity for voice and data technologies.

Inspects, documents, designs, and tests data, voice, video
copper and fiber cabling and associated products according to
BICSI standards, EIA/TIA standards, and NEC.

Participates and oversees the inspection, documentation,
design, testing and evaluation of cabling infrastructures.

May perform end-user training.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with special systems design include nurse call, wander
guard, fire alarm, IDS/security systems, POE networks, systems
integration, and LV grounding
Requirements
- Associate
or Bachelor Degree, or technical institute degree/certificate, or
equivalent work experience.
- Valid
BICSI RCDD certification.
- 5
years of Telecommunications Design and IT infrastructure experience
- A working vehicle and a clean driving record
- The
ability to travel 20% of the time on multi-day out of state projects
- WIlling to submit to a background screening
