Description:NextStep Technology is seeking an experienced Project Manager (CPA) to lead financial management and reporting support for the Department of Labor’s Unemployment Trust Fund (UTF). This position serves as Key Personnel and will oversee federal accounting operations, reconciliations, audit readiness, and stakeholder coordination across Treasury, ETA, and OCFO.Key Responsibilities:· Serve as primary point of contact with DOL COR/CO and manage day-to-day contract performance.· Lead UTF accounting operations, including processing of Treasury/ETA files, journal entries, and monthly/quarterly/annual reporting.· Oversee reconciliations, including FBWT, investments, debt, outstanding balances, and state-reported UI data.· Coordinate all external audit activities, track PBCs, and ensure timely, accurate audit submissions.· Manage team performance, staffing, schedules, and deliverables to ensure quality and compliance.· Maintain documentation, SOPs, and audit-ready workpapers; support process improvements and automation initiatives.· Ensure compliance with federal financial regulations (OMB, Treasury, CFO Act, GMRA, FFMIA).Requirements:Required Qualifications:· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.· Active CPA certification (mandatory).· 10 years total financial management experience.· 6 years specialized experience in federal accounting or trust fund operations.· Strong knowledge of federal financial reporting, reconciliations, GTAS, and USSGL.· Prior experience supporting federal financial statement audits.Other Requirements:· Ability to obtain a Moderate Risk Public Trust (MBI) background check.· Onsite availability during core hours (8:00 AM–4:30 PM ET) with hybrid telework allowed per DOL policy.
Salary : $140,000 - $160,000
